For Elementary or Middle School
Students and/or Parents must report any damage to the device immediately to their teacher, principal, or other designated individual. If the device was stolen or vandalized while not on school property then the parent must file a police report.
If the damage is intentional or accidental(more than damage that can be done with normal usage) the student should be sent to the building administrator to speak with about the damages. The building administrator should at a bare minimum discuss the responsibility of having a school device and told there could be charges due to the damage.
The DCG staff member will submit a ticket to helpdesk@dcgschools.com with the information required in all help desk requests and send the device to the Technology Office at the High School.
Information Required within the Help Desk ticket:
Building Name and Room number/Location to send the device once repaired (Heritage Room# 402):
Student Name (Mike Hoskins):
Asset Tag (Red and white one, usually 5 numbers, 17855):
Detailed Description of Issue: The more information you can provide the better. The more valuable data you provide us the quicker and easier it is to turn devices around.
The DCG IT staff will inspect the device and assess the damage to the device. They will then determine the cost of the repair or if an entire replacement device will be necessary. Once the fee is determined the IT staff member will take pictures and/or videos of the damage which we will attach to the ticket.
The collected information will then be sent back to the building principal and administrative assistant. The building will be responsible for communicating the damage to the student and parents along with deciding if any additional disciplinary action needs to be taken. The administrative assistant will enter the damage into Infinite Campus as a fee to be paid. This can be done as follows:
Go to the Student in Infinite Campus and go to the Fees tab
Click on New Fee Assignment
On the drop down box select Technology Damage Fine 0.00
In the amount field enter the amount specified by the DCG IT Department and enter a due date
In the event of a lost charger or component typically we will require payment before we give a replacement.
